the only change from Option 1 to Option 2 is the gas cooktop will become a 24" induction cooktop from Wolf.I am not aware of any 24" gas ovens but there may be one from Bluestar or Viking which is beyond the budget. This option needs an electrician to determine if you can get a 220v for the oven.a small piece of counter will be needed, also from ikea (~$75).24" side opening oven from Fagor ($999) or 24" regular oven from Bosch ($1500).They look very similar and range from $700 to $1000. 24" gas cooktop from multiple manufacturers: Miele, Fagor, Bosch and Fisher and Paykel.I can think of two options but I think I may exceed your budget slightly. Each of these choices have pro's and con's.Īppreciate hearing from anyone who has had experience with these ranges or suggestions about other brands to consider.

Short of going all out (additional cost and time and labor in rewiring, cabinetry of doing 24" cooktop and 24" wall oven underneath), I've narrowed freestanding range choices to: Verona 24" gas range(online reviews mixed and some reviews say the exterior gets extremely hot) Peerless Pro 24" battery spark or electric ignition (tho I don't need broiler drawer and very few online reviews) or Blomberg 24" gas range (online reviews mixed and unclear whether the gas range is freestanding or slide in). Local appliance dealers don't have 24" ranges on display and are geared to knowing about, having in stock and selling larger appliances. I'd love to do a complete kitchen renovation but it's not doable right now. Cast iron grates or enameled cast iron grates (not the round wire kind) important too. I'm looking for a reliable easy to use 24" range that has at least 2.5 cubic feet oven capacity, storage drawer if possible (rarely did I use the broiler drawer on old stove), max depth of about 26" from wall, is well made and minimum of fuss to use and maintain. Being used to open burner, standing pilot for so many years, this ignition thing (battery spark or electric/electronic ignition)is new to me. Have very small kitchen (approx 7' wide by 14' long) but can go to 24". Need to replace an old 20" gas range that's been a great stove for us since the 1970's but is unrepairable bc of parts and code.
